This is the first section of our November newsletter and it's time for us to reveal our new logo designed by G.

The first question I asked related to the meaning of the band name and what it stood for. One of the main themes is that Blue Gillespie represents the dark side of our personalities and on a wider scale the more primitive side of human nature. In terms of our experience this is manifested by us reacting and then feeling remorse at our actions, or being at the mercy of negative intent, a cycle we are all accustomed to as we develop.
Looking at the logo from one perspective we see the right half of a face and eye with a calm expression to show growth and direction, the overall progression of the self and life is portrayed by a spiral, created in the fibonacci ratio which is a symbol of growth in nature.
Rotated around 180 degrees the logo changes to incorporate this idea of duality. The eye has the tone of anger and also a line coming from the eye ending with a small tear of regret - the negative things you may do in your life are dead ends to this growth.
All this orbits around a centre, the continual choice you have to choose how to react. It is a primal instinctive loop that goes to the very heart of our nature and one theme of the upcoming album.

Above is the new look for the band name and below is the BG eye.

We asked G to share his thoughts on the design.

New Merch
As a follow on from this we are really excited about our new merch range which we will be launching in time for Christmas. Red hoodies, white t-shirts and 6 different badges and they all look mint! They will be added to the site in the next few weeks and will go some way towards the studio costs for the album.
